<언어의 재 II>는 파리 현지에서 생활하며 느꼈던 타언어의 낯설음과 괴리의 개념을 다중적 설치로 풀어낸 작업이다. 나는 이 작업에서 언어가 갖고 있는 여러 가지 레이어(기호, 음성, 의미)를 프랑스의 유명 텅트위스터 (tonge twister)를 인용해 매체로써의 언어를 분해한다. 현지인들은 설치물의 문구를 읽어 내려가는 동안 발음에 집중해 끝까지 글을 읽어 내려갈 수 없다. 또한 내용을 전부 읽는다하더라도 그 의미를 완전히 되새기기란 더욱 어렵다. 이 과정에서 관객은 언어가 매체로써 갖고 있는 복합 다중적인 생성구조를 마주할 수 있게 된다.

<The ashes of words II> is an installation work revealing the process, what loss occurs when character and grammatical rule function not as a meaning but as a medium. The work shows French Tongue Twister sentences to make viewers to face to the moment letters, sound, meaning in a language are disjointed.
